Socially responsible public procurement is a deliberate, systematic and strategic integration of procurement-related considerations that have a positive impact on societal challenges and are effectively driving social and labour policies forward.
The social responsibility criteria may be integrated into all activities related to the procurement of goods, services or works, from the process of clarifying needs, developing and evaluating appropriate specifications to monitoring the results achieved.
Accordingly, in order to promote socially responsible procurement, PROVIDUS, in cooperation with the Procurement Monitoring Bureau, has produced an informative video as well as a booklet that can be used daily by the commissioning party as an assistant to understand whether the public procurement can be carried out in a socially responsible way
At the same time, the Procurement Monitoring Bureau and the Latvian Social Business Association organise a regional discussion cycle on the performance of socially responsible public procurement (see in detail).
